It doesn’t matter who you are. When it comes time to kiss somebody for the first time, it can be so nerve-wracking that everything you thought you knew goes away and turns you into abumbling fool. With these tips, you can stop worrying and start enjoying the experience, which is, after all, what kissing is for.
It is a good idea to start preparing for the kiss before the date. Make sure your lips aren’t dryand chapped, and if they are, use some moisturizing lip balm. More important than moist lips is the smoothness of your face. If you keep a beard, that’s okay, but if you just have stubble, make sure you shave it off. Girls’ skin is sensitive, and you don’t want to end up scraping her with your whiskers.
Once preparation is over and you’re with the girl, try not to force it. If you’re reading this article, it probably means you have a kissing session in your future, so just let it happen naturally. Try to lick your lips before you go in for the kiss, to make them a little moist, but don’t slobber on her.
The best way to show the girl you’re with that you are worth kissing is to take it slow. Wait for her to open her mouth and initiate a full-fledged make-out. Once she does, avoid sticking your tongue down her throat. Your tongue should take a back seat to your lips, because one of the biggest complaints girls have is that guys use too much tongue.
A great way to keep yourself from overdoing the tongue is to focus on the feel of your lips against each other. Take some time to suck on her bottom lip or nibble it gently. Mirror what she is doing, because she is likely to kiss you the way she wants to be kissed. You can also tell what she likes by listening to the noises she makes and any changes in body language. If she starts running her fingers through your hair, for instance, you’re probably doing something right.
Lastly, use your hands. Hold her, stroke her hair, or somehow let her know that you’re engaged in this with more than your mouth. Don’t let a lack of experience keep you from enjoying a good make out session. Just keep these tips in mind, and remember to have fun!
