First Date Advice You Won’t Find In Cosmo
Let me be the first to say congratulations. I am assuming the reason you are looking for first date advice is because you have lined up a date with one of fine creature of the female form. Many guys often don’t realise but a bit of thought should go into a first date.
Doing things right can dramatically increase the attraction that you have built up with the girl. On the other hand getting things wrong can also have the opposite effect, not what we’re after. So lets delve into some of my first date tips.
To start with lets look at clothes issue. Doesn’t really matter all that much but generally it is best to go for smart casual, and be fairly well groomed. There is a fine line between looking good and trying too hard so just be aware of that.
As for the date itself, let’s look at a couple of the more popular options you want to stay well clear of:
- Cinema – Big problem with this one, very difficult to interact verbally. Not having the ability to talk to each other can really lose that momentum you worked so hard to build when you first met, ideally you want to do something where you can talk, so that you can continue to build attraction and get to know each other on a deeper level.
- Big Posh Meal – Fancy, expensive restaurant says on thing to me: ‘try hard’. Although allows interactions between you, the fact that so much attention is placed on her means that the frame of the whole evening is wrong wrong wrong. You’ve put her up on a pedestal, and positioned yourself as a lower value man that is trying to impress her. Bad for attraction – *big time*.
I recommend taking her somewhere where you can have fun, where you can interact and where she is not the center of attention. Here are a few of my first date ideas that I have tried and found to work very well:
- Ice Skating/Other Fun Activity – The activity itself is the center of attention, where you could have fun without her. It is the perfectly opportunity to banter with one another. Banter is such a good way to build attraction in a girl. It also helps if you are pretty good at the activity, and can teach her, rib her for being rubbish, etc. All good stuff.
- Random Shopping – Say you need to go shopping for a present. Here the shopping is the main factor, you have just asked her along for a little bit of help. Take her somewhere with toys, like Toys R Us, so that you can mess about with them. Or go to a furniture store and throw pillows at her and push her onto the beds and accuse her of trying too hard to get you in bed with her. All good stuff. Demonstrates that you are fun, cool, and savvy all the while she is having a great time.
- Museum/Art Gallery – Once again it is the activity that is taking center stage. This is an excellent place to deepen your connection, whether you know anything about art at all. Being passionate about the pieces in the museum or gallery, showing fascination and using the surroundings as prompts to talk about deeper things will all help take things in the direction you wish things to go. i.e. deeper attraction and connection.
The basic principle is to make her time with you so good that its the highlight of her week. You want to give her ‘once in a lifetime’ fun experiences every time she is with you, so she associates all that pleasure and enjoyment to being around you.
By far the best way to do this, is to genuinely have an exciting and incredible life. Be interesting and do interesting things, and she will want to be a part of this too.
So now you are ready for your first date, and by following my first date advice you will have a great first date.
