Trust me this is very common. So many guys want to know how can I get girls to like me, especially if they feel like they lack the confidence to talk to women. The thing is, you need a certain amount of confidence to be successful at anything you do in life. This is called core-confidence, otherwise known as self-confidence.

They say that: Self-confidence and positive thinking = success [1]

Whether you are looking to do well in a particular sport, or job, or whatever, confidence is a key ingredient that keeps things flowing nicely. It’s like the foundation everything else is built upon. It takes whatever skills and talents you have, and amplifies them.

It’s exactly the same with women. You need to have a certain amount of confidence to be successful with women. If you can’t talk to women they I am afraid to say that you have pretty much no chance of being great with women. And how do you talk to women? By going up to them and confidently saying, “Hi”.

The words aren’t difficult. But having the confidence to actually go through with it, well that is massive. That is the difference between massive success, and dismal failure.

A big problem

Probably one of the main things I hear on this subject is how you can gain confidence by being successful at whatever you are doing.

For example, if you are playing golf then you will really up your confidence levels if you start winning tournaments. You suddenly getting this great burst of confidence. You now know it’s possible for you to win a tournament because you have been there and done it. Now it’s a case of playing more tournaments and smashing out the victories.

Success breeds success [2]. Article over… Haha, not a chance. It’s not quite as simple as that is it? How can you go from where you are, to that first, vital success?

All will become clear…

The thing is, in order to win that first tournament you would have obviously needed some confidence and self-belief behind you. Otherwise you probably would have struggled to see the victory through. You would have gone to pieces on the last hole, or spooned it on the final tee.

This is where the problem lies. It’s very true that if you succeed at something then you will gain confidence. However we need to learn how to get enough initial confidence to be successful in the first place. It’s like the old ‘chicken and egg’ problem – if you need success in order to be confident, and you need confidence in order to have success – how can you ever end up with either if you have little confidence or success to begin with?

In order to do this, we need to use the power of what I call the ‘snowball effect’.

It goes like this: The more success you have with women, no matter how small, the more you confidence you have which in turn will bring you more success. If you can get a girl to like you, then you know it’s possible to get girls to like you from that day on. Once you know it’s possible, then it’s just a matter of getting out there and doing it. It’s a pretty sweet deal don’t you think?

So how can I get a girl if I lack confidence?

Well firstly you need to get some initial confidence. This is probably the hardest part of becoming successful at anything. It’s not easy feeling confident about something if you have never done it before. Or at least not had any success from it.

The biggest thing is realising that you need to push outside your comfort zone. However we all know this is not the easiest thing in the world. If it was this easy, you wouldn’t be asking me how to get the girl if I lack the confidence to speak to her, in the first place.

There is a reason why it’s so fucking hard. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Being the amazing machine your brain is, it tries to do what is best for you. In this case it tries to protect you from stuff that might go horribly wrong. Therefore, as Paul McKenna says, “Your brain tries to make today the same as yesterday because it knows that will have the highest chance of keeping you safe”.

Basically, you got through yesterday alright so if I make things happen in exactly the same way they we will be perfectly alright. It’s a survival mechanism. In the past, it was biological programming like this that meant we didn’t go toe-to-toe with a sabretooth tiger, and end up as lunch.

Can’t complain

You can’t really complain about this because as a human your number one priority is to be safe. Otherwise you are increasing your chances of hurting or killing yourself and that is a big no no.

However the major downside is it stops you from changing easily. Changing from the norm could potentially mean hazards. Hazards that the brain doesn’t want to happen to you.

But in order to become successful with women you need to fight through these barriers. You need to break through your comfort zone and allow yourself to take a risk in order to get the success you need to sky rocket your confidence.

These survival mechanisms were relevant many thousands of years ago when they first evolved in our brains and bodies. But guess what? The chances of us encountering some beast or predator that would likely kill us in modern society is pretty darn slim. Essentially, the programming we are all born with, is out of date. It’s like an old PC running Windows ‘98 – in serious need of an upgrade.

So how do you get that initial confidence?

Inner Game Confidence

Firstly you need work on that grey matter in-between your ears. If you have any negative thoughts going on in your head then it’s going to be really difficult for you to feel like you have enough confidence in you to make that first approach.

It’s the old story of self-fulfilling prophecy. What is a self-fulfilling prophecy? Wikipedia describes it as:
“A prophecy declared as truth when it is actually false may sufficiently influence people, either through fear or logical confusion, so that their reactions ultimately fulfill the once-false prophecy.”. [3]

If you fear that you are not very confident then you will not be-able to become confident. There the first thing you need to be able to do is accept that you are capable of being confident. If you have ever spoken to a girl then you are confident enough. You just got to realise this fact.

To really attack this from all angles, I would recommend reading some books on human psychology, listening to hypnosis CDs and using affirmations. All three things should help you to gain the confidence you need to go out into the real world and start actively changing you ability to meet and attract women.

Using affirmations correctly can have a huge impact on the way you think and can definitely help you gain the confidence you need to approach a girl for the first time.

Doing this stuff may feel really dumb at first, but that’s because you are training your mind in ways that it is not used to. Remember when you first tried to ride a bike, or drive a car? It felt odd as hell. But the more you got on that saddle, or behind that wheel, the more comfortable you felt, until soon it was just second nature, and you didn’t even have to think consciously about it at all. You just got on with it.

Outer Game Confidence

Now let’s talk about outer-game confidence. This is more focused on being confident in your aptitude and your abilities, to e.g. walk up to, and talk to a girl, without trembling, vomiting, having your voice turn into a little squeak, treading on her feet, etc, etc.

The first thing to remember here is don’t get stuck into the mindset that you need to learn every part of an interaction to gain confidence.

This is a fallacy. As long as you know how to go up to a girl and say, “Hi.” you can start an interaction.

A lot of guys get stuck in the mindset that you need to learn everything. However I believe that this is just a way to prolong having to approach a girl. It’s a form of procratination. You must realise that trying to learn everything won’t give you confidence, it will just slow down your progress.

Instead you need to break through the fear barrier and actually approach and talk to girls. You need to overcome that mechanism in your head that causes us to back out of anything we fear. I am talking about the fight-or-flight response. The bodies body’s primitive, automatic, inbuilt response that prepares the body to “fight” or “flee” from perceived attack, harm or threat to our survival. [4]

Yes I know it’s easier said than done just to walk up to a girl and start talking to her. However we have all been there and guess what, 99.999% of guys will walk away from the first interaction without any problems. THESE ARE GOOD ODDS!

Ok, so you might not get her number, but you will realise that nothing bad will happen. You walk up to her, she’ll probably be a bit surprised, but also quite flattered that someone has taken the time out of their day to talk to her. You’ll chat for a bit, you’ll probably run out of things to say, you’ll say, “Well, I better be going now, but nice talking to you.” And you’ll walk away. Boom, you will never be the same again after doing this for the first time. Trust me on that one :-)

Once you realise that the world isn’t going to implode from the mere act of you walking up to a girl and talking to her, your confidence will rocket. You won’t be worried about something horrendous happening when you approach a girl. In fact, you’ll want to do it more. And more. And soon you’ll be looking for opportunities to talk to women wherever you are, no matter what time it is.

A good way to build this sort of thing up slowly is just to ask women generic questions you would ask anyone. Ask them what the time is to start with. Just go up to them and say, “Hi, what time is it?” Simple as that.

Then, once you feel comfortable doing that, maybe move onto asking directions to where something is like, “Where’s the nearest coffee shop?” Then, just keep pushing the envelope, until you have the confidence to do all the things you have learned from meeting women.

Side note

One time I asked a woman what the time was. Five minutes later I walked up to the same woman and asked the time again without realising I had already asked her. She was like, “You asked me this five minutes ago”.

Now if you had said to me beforehand that this was going to happen, I would have bricked it. However after it happened I just walked off and laughed. This made me realise that things are never as bad as you think they will be. Even this worst-case-scenario turned out to be actually pretty funny for the both of us.

Anyways, back to business

I hope that this article will help you to build that initial confidence you will need in order to go out and start talking to women. The real answer to “How can I get a girl if I lack confidence?” is to work on your inner game until you have got enough confidence to approach a girl and say hi.

Once you can approach a girl and say hi, you will realise that nothing bad is going to happen to you. Then it’s all about pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone, and going further and further each subsequent time.

Firstly, don’t worry because you are not alone. I probably don’t say this enough to guys, but you are not alone when it comes to wanting to improve with women.

There are so many guys want to know how to get girls to like you but are afraid to ask for help. Like it’s something you should be good at naturally. So congratulations for taking the first step into becoming better with women.

So back to the question: How to make a girl like you?

To answer this question it is better to switch things around. You need to think about  along the lines of “What can I do to make myself more attractive to women?”. Read that sentence again. This is a subtle yet important paradigm shift. Focusing on improving yourself on a fundamental level, rather than trying special techniques or gimmicks to attract women.

Once you start thinking like this, you will start to get an understanding of what will make you more attractive to women. Soon you will realise that if you can become that cool, awesome, amazing guy who women love then you are much more likely to attract more and more women.

And once you get to that stage, the need to be that ‘try-hard’ chasing women kind of guy just disappears. You encounter women naturally, and it is completely natural for the majority of them to be very attracted to you.

How do you become that cool, awesome, love-able guy?

Firstly let me explain something. When I say you need to think about how to become more attractive, I am not talking about looks.

You are stuck with the face you’ve got. We all are and you are no different. The great news is, girls are not like us guys. The way a guy looks in the face is not the most important factor, by a long shot.

Key point to remember

Being good looking does not automatically make you attractive to women.

Being attractive is not just about your mug. Being attractive is much more than that. It involves many different aspects that you to get right in order to become more attractive to women.

How to make a girl like you is not about having a face like Brad Pitt to get women. If that was the case, people like Sylvester Stallone wouldn’t have be able to date some of the hot women he has done. Once you realise this, then you are going to open a door that will allow you to meet and attract plenty of women.

So what does make a guy attractive?

So now we know that we don’t need to look like this month’s GQ cover model. All you need to know now is what makes you an attractive guy to women

Today we are going to look at the top 10 signs a girl is attracted to you. Knowing the signs that a girl likes you can help take away the fear of being rejected.

It can give you an air of confidence to start a conversation and take things with the girl to the next level.

There are many things that a girl does that can help you get a general sense of whether or not she likes you. There are things that she might do that show she is not attracted to you, but we are going to focus on the signs that a girl does likes you.

Obviously it’s not a guaranteed thing because life is never that simple. Sometimes it may seem like a girl is showing signs of attraction for you but she may just be a nice girl friendly girl. Also, if a girl is really shy then she may not demonstrate many signs of attraction because she is to shy to do so.

All I know for sure is if a girl shows signs that she may be attracted to you, then it’s probably worth the risk by acting on these because the upside of success severely outweighs the downside of not being successful.

The 10 signs a girl is attracted to you…

1. She smiles at you

Generally if a girl likes you, she will smile at you. The difference being it won’t be a glancing smile. It will be a genuine smile and she will normally have a little twinkle in her eye.

2. She touches you

This is a biggie. Girls tend to only make physical contact if they like you. This can be shown in a number of ways. The playful push, the hand on the knee under the table, a hug when they see you etc.

If a girl is getting physical with you it means she feels comfortable touching you and will feel comfortable with you touching her.

3. She makes good eye contact

There are two parts to this: Firstly, the gaze from across the way. You know the one where she is walking along and looks over and then looks away. Or maybe gives you a smile to acknowledge that you have seen her.

Then there is eye contact when you are talking together. If you get girls locking eye contact with you then it’s a good sign that she is attracted.

4. She leans in when speaking to you

If someone does not feel comfortable around you then they tend to lean away.

The opposite applies to a girl who likes you. If she leans in close when speaking to you then she feels comfortable enough to be up close and personal. This is a sign that she likes being close to you. Body language attraction cues are the key here so it’s important to know and recognise them.

Good style gets you a foot in the door. That’s its purpose for our goals.

If you have bad style, then it can put women off from the start. It’s not personal; they have to filter out all the guys that try for their attention.

Looks in guys are seriously overrated. Things like leadership, decision making, the awesome things you do, what you have achieved in your life, etc are much more important in communicating that you are an attractive, powerful, masculine dude.

Style gives you the chance to show her the rest of you

If you fail the ‘style test’ (and women will judge you on this within a fraction of a second of meeting you), then you are setting yourself up for a huge challenge right from the start. Fine if you’re a masochist and like to get shot down, but not good if, like me, you want success with as little effort as possible.

Why is Style so important

There are a number of reasons why you should get your style sorted. Here are 7 of the most important.

Feeling better about yourself

Let’s be honest, if you walked outside with a white t-shirt on with food stains down the front you are not gonna feel particularly good about yourself. If you feel crap about yourself then you are not very likely to wanna go out let alone approach women.

If you instead go out with clean, smart clothes that suit you, then you are going to feel great about yourself. If you feel great then you are much more likely to approach women in a better frame of mind and thus have more success.

More confidence

This builds on from the first point. If you wear clothes that look the business and make you feel good about yourself, then you are going to have more confidence.

Everyone struggles with confidence from time to time so having something that can give you a little confidence with little effort is totally worth it.

The extra confidence you gain from this may be the difference between approaching that hottie in the corner of the room or just sitting on your ass gazing from afar.

First impression needs to be good

Having a great sense of style automatically puts you in an advantageous position. When people see you they get a first impression that is hard, if not impossible, to change.

Now I am not talking about looks here. If you see a tramp you don’t say “Bloody hell he’s ugly”. However you do assume he is a vagrant by the way he is dressed. People will make the same judgements about you so make sure you are dressed to impress.

It shows you care

If you take pride in your appearance then it shows you care. You care enough to put in that effort to make yourself look smart.

Women will automatically assume that if you take care of yourself then you are much more likely take care of them. Remember women want someone who will protect them.

Protecting women isn’t just about going ‘Chuck Norris’ on someones ass if they attack her. It’s about making her feel that you care about what happens to her. If you don’t care about yourself much then what are the chances you are going to care about her?

Women love fashion

We all know women love fashion. They buy fashion magazines and absorb every little thing about fashion. Therefore they tend to respect guys who have a good sense of fashion.

If you go out with the right look, women are going to look and think “Mmmm that guy is well dressed”. Obviously that is going to work in your favour… :-)

Increase your chances of getting laid

This is something I actually didn’t know until very recently. I found this out from the Seduce with Style manual. It seems in every sample of population there are the rare 1-5% of women who are willing to sleep with you based only on your ‘style avatar’ (i.e. what you represent by your style).

This makes sense if you think about it. Emo girls tend to go for emo guys. Rock chicks for rockers. Club chicks for meat-heads. They represent that small percentage.

Ok, so 1-5% is not a lot, but maybe today’s your lucky day. All because you took a little time and effort to make sure you are looking at your best.

Stand out from the crowd

Now I don’t mean crazy-ass peacocking here. Wearing women’s clothing for example will get you noticed but not for the right reasons.

What I mean is stand out from the huge number of guys who are walking around clueless when it comes to style. They look average, dull, boring. Without knowing all the secrets to style they will get lost in the noise as you rise above it.

This in turn will make you stand out to women. You will be the one women pick up on their radar and that will make them more open to you approaching them.

Final thought

As you can see there are a number of benefits to being a man with great style. If the way you look can give you an advantage when it comes to attracting women, it would make sense to take advantage of that fact, right?

For such a little effort, I think it’s well worth taking the time to get your style sorted and reap all the benefits we have listed here.

Something you don’t hear very often when it comes to meeting and attracting women is, “It takes hard work and commitment”.

Quote time:

Success comes from putting the time and effort into what you are trying to succeed at. Your success comes from getting up in the morning and focusing on what you need to do in order to be successful.

Obviously it’s not all about just getting up early. It’s more about using your time more effectively and efficiently.

There is no point getting up early if you just sit on your ass for the whole day and do absolutely nothing. That is a kinda missing the point. However if you use this extra time to learn or do something new that will help you achieve your goals then it’s definitely worth doing.

Also if you are sat around trying to find something on TV then surely it would be better to use that time to learn something new or put something you have learned into practice.

There is balance though. Recently I started a new series called Tuesday’s Timeout. It’s all about taking time out and having a rest. You can’t continually learn new things, whether that’s to do with meeting women or whatever. This is a sure fire way to end up in burnout land.

Final thought

Remember that being successful takes hard work and commitment. Make sure that you use your time more effectively and you will definitely improve quicker. However make sure that you take enough time out to relax and enjoy yourself otherwise you will get sick and tired of what you are trying to be successful at.

You are sat at home just passing the time. The tick of the clock rings in your ear as it counts down the minutes until it’s time to go out and meet some hot, sexy women.

Normally you look forward to going out. You wanna go and meet some hot women, even if it gives you that horrible pit-of-the-stomach sick feeling. You, like everyone else, get the same feeling and you should definitely check out our ‘Embrace The Fear’ article if you want know why this feeling is actually essential for success.

But today you’re not feeling great. Maybe you had a shit day at work or something during the day hasn’t gone the way you planned. You are thinking that maybe it would be better to give tonight a miss.

Problem is, you know you will feel even worse if you do that. At the same time you’re thinking if you go out, and are feeling crap, then you will most likely have a bad night. You will probably end up drowning your woes away with alcohol and just end up having a drunken laugh with your mates.

This certainly isn’t the worst thing in the world as it will make you feel better, at least in the short-term. But it may well lead to you having a bad night when it comes to meeting women. A ‘few too many’ can lead to a lack of ability to meet and attract women.

If, like me, you don’t often drink, you might find you go out and have a crappy night. If you don’t drink, then your mindset needs to be controlled by yourself. This is a big change from the Going out in a bad mood makes it very hard to have a good night. If you are not having a good night then you will struggle to meet girls because they will pick up on this fact.

So, if you are going out tonight for the purpose of meeting and attracting a hot bird, then you really need to know how to get yourself into a good mood. This way you will feel better about yourself and this will definitely improve your chances of being successful with women.

Watch YouTube Videos

I have a few hundred YouTube videos I can watch to get me into a good mood. Some are funny, some are inspirational, some are unbelievable and others are just plain awesome. Whichever one I watch, I know I will be in a better mood for watching. So much so in fact I am currently working on a post that will have my top favorite videos. Get Some Exercise

The major thing that exercise does in order to make us feel good is release chemicals that make you feel good. These chemicals will raise your mood and you will feel much better for it. I also love the fact that I am working towards something that will make me look better and healthier. How can this fail to put you in a good mood?… it can’t :-)

Watch Comedy

I personally love comedy. Currently Micheal McIntyre is my favorite comedian. “I think you’ll find pal, that’s legal tender”… fucking hilarious. As with exercise, laughing causes the body to release chemicals that make you feel good. Another great thing about watching a lot of comedy is it gives you great material to use when meeting women. You can use jokes you have heard to make women laugh. If you can make women laugh then you are definitely on the right path.

Do Something You Love

You must have something that you really love to do. Everybody does. Me personally, I like going out on my motorbike for a long ride along some nice country roads. Well, apart from when a taxi pulls out in front of me and I fall and break my collar bone :-(. Not to worry though, you live and learn. The point is that doing something you love will definitely put you into a great mood.

Final Thought

If you are in a bad mood, then it’s still better to go out and try and meet women even if it will make it slightly harder. However, better still, if you can learn how to get yourself into a great mood then you will put yourself in a better position when it comes to meeting and attracting women.

If you can take these things on board then your ability to meet and attract women will skyrocket.

#1 – Get Some Style

Go out and get a decent haircut. Go buy some clothes that really suit you. You need to make sure that you look the part because it will give you that edge over the competition.

Having great style shows that you care about yourself and the way you look. If you care about yourself then you are more likely to care about the her. She will find this very attractive.

#2 – Get down the gym

Now I don’t mean you can get into shape in one day. What I am saying is either start going down the gym or get down there and do some exercise if you already do.

Remember you don’t have to go down the gym, you could start exercising at home. Or you could incorporate exercise into your daily life, like cycling to work.

Being in shape has the same effect as getting style. If you care enough about yourself to put your body through torture, then you will more likely care for her.

#3 – Start Learning a new skill

As with above, I am not expecting you to learn a new skill in a day. What I am saying is why not start learning a new skill right now?

Learning a new skill is all about improving yourself. This is always attractive to women. Also you might one day be able to use said skill to demonstrate higher value. My main man Preston Blain has done this many a time with magic. I personally have used my skill-set with a guitar to make a few ladies hearts melt on a couple of occasions.

However remember that you should learn a new skill foremost because you enjoy it, and only secondly because you want to impress the ladies.

#4 – Approach a girl

Go out and talk to a girl today. Being able to approach women is obviously the first step in building attraction. If you are unable to approach a girl then you are fighting a losing battle.

The thing is, you need to just go out there and go for it. You can learn all you want about getting confidence to approach women, or the best ways to approach women, but in the end you just gotta go out there and do it.

Once you master the art of approaching, you are already half way to success.

#5 – Strike up a decent conversation

Being able to hold a conversation with a girl is also very important. Once you have approached her, you need to be able to talk to her long enough to build attraction.

When ever you you get the chance today, whether it be at work, at a pub, or wherever, try and strike up a decent conversation with someone. Realise that you are capable of this skill and that if you done this with a girl you have just approached then you are on to a winner.

#6 – Listen to some Paul McKenna

By this time you are probably thinking “Yes this is all well and good, but I lack confidence”. Well maybe you could try something different such as a Paul Mckenna book with acompanying hypnosis CD.

Now I am not gonna ram this down your throat, all I am going to say is that this shit seems to work pretty well. I know Preston has used it a lot and I have done too, to great effect.

#7 – Give up porn

A lot of guys say they haven’t got enough time to try the above suggestions. With today’s busy lifestyle it can be difficult to find the time to do something new, be it a hobby, the gym or whatever.

But, there are surely things that are not beneficial to your life that you could drop in order to make time. For example, watching porn. Watching porn is something that can consume a large amount of time and has very little intrinsic benefit to your life.

Or maybe reduce the amount of TV that you watch. If you limit the time doing something that has no real benefit and instead spend time doing things that actually have a tangible benefit to your life, then you will improve with women much more quicker.

Final thought

Take the above points on board and actually take action on them and you will definitely improve with women. The great thing about these as well, is they are great fun and you could start them right now. There is no excuse.
